Amentum is seeking a 1st shift Mailroom Clerk to join our facilities maintenance team in Des Moines, IA. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 1st shift; overtime and hours may vary based on customer demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a mailroom or similar environment preferred.
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Sort, distribute, and deliver mail within the Post Office premises accurately and in a timely manner.
• Operate mail processing equipment, including postage machines, letter openers, and sorting machines.
• Collect and process various types of mail, such as letters, packages, registered mail, and bulk mailings.
• Prepare mail for delivery, including sorting it alphabetically or by postal code.
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail, including tracking packages and maintaining logs.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of mailing supplies, such as envelopes, stamps, and packaging materials.
• Address and resolve any mail-related issues, including mislabeled or undeliverable mail.
• Collaborate with other postal workers to ensure efficient mail delivery service.
• Escort suppliers when needed and confirm suppliers are Green in Avetta before on-site work.
• Create Badge Access Requests.
