Job summary

Related Affordable is seeking a Seasonal Mailroom / Package Room Clerk in New York City to manage the package room for Manhattan Plaza. You will receive and distribute packages to residents and departments, scan into property software, and keep the room orderly while maintaining strong customer service.

Flexibility to work Tue, Thu, Sat (9:00 AM–2:00 PM or 2:00 PM–7:00 PM) and occasional shifts on other days is required. Overtime eligibility and a benefits package are noted.

• Availability to work Tue, Thu, and Sat, with potential additional shifts on Mon, Fri or Sun.
• Residential package room experience preferred.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable, able to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

The Seasonal Mailroom / Package Room Clerk, under the supervision of the Mailroom Supervisor, is responsible for maintaining the package room in a neat and orderly manner. The Clerk is to coordinate the acceptance and distribution of packages to the residents and different departments of Manhattan Plaza. Daily responsibilities of the Seasonal Mailroom / Package Room Clerk include:

• Receiving and distributing packages from United Parcel Service and the United States Postal Service on a daily basis to residents and operations and management
• Scanning into property software, sorting and shelving the packages
• Maintaining the package room clean and organized on a daily basis
• Providing the supervisor with weekly tally of daily tasks assigned
• Exhibit exceptional customer service skills
• Other duties as required by your supervisor
• Availability Requirements: Candidates must be available to work Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Additional shifts may be scheduled on Mondays, Fridays, and occasionally Sundays. Shift Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Schedules may vary based on operational needs, and flexibility to work either shift is preferred

Anticipated Salary Range

• $20.00 - 21.00 / hour
• This position is non-exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position.

Manhattan Plaza consists of two 46-story high-rise towers and various townhomes totaling 1,689 residential units of federally-subsidized housing. Encompassing a full city block, the property also includes street level retail, a parking garage and fitness center. The property is centrally located at 400 West 43rd Street, just west of Times Square. Qualifications

• Availability Requirements: Candidates must be available to work Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Additional shifts may be scheduled on Mondays, Fridays, and occasionally Sundays. Shift Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Schedules may vary based on operational needs, and flexibility to work either shift is preferred.
• Prior residential package room experience preferred
• Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision
• Excellent time management skills and work ethic needed
• Understanding of computers/technology
• Customer service skills
• Must able to lift 50LBS and stand for 8 hours
• Alternating weekend scheduling of assigned work will be determined at the discretion of the supervisor
• The schedule may be changed by supervisor based on job need
