Mailroom Associate - JLL
What this job involves:
We are seeking an energetic, reliable, and customer-focused Mailroom Associate to support daily operations at our client site in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing mail services, supporting office and breakroom operations, maintaining supply inventory, and assisting with workplace service requests. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while delivering a high level of customer service. This position plays an important role in ensuring efficient workplace operations and a positive employee experience for onsite teams.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming USPS and overnight courier mail and packages on the same day of receipt.
- Process outgoing shipments through FedEx, UPS, and USPS, including applying correct postage and coordinating mail pickups.
- Maintain mailroom, copy rooms, and office supply inventory, including stocking paper, toner, and other workplace essentials.
- Support office equipment operations by responding to paper jams, replacing basic interchangeable parts, and ensuring devices remain functional.
- Organize and replenish breakroom supplies, maintain cleanliness of shared spaces, and wipe down counters and equipment as needed.
- Conduct facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance concerns and submit Corrigo work orders for issues requiring attention.
- Respond to Mail Services-related work orders by opening, updating, and closing tickets within established timelines while maintaining accurate daily workflow reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of related mailroom, office services, or facilities support experience.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide professional, white-glove service.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities throughout the day.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Corrigo or similar work order management systems.
- Familiarity with reprographic and copy machine equipment operations.
- Experience supporting workplace or facilities services in a corporate environment.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for office equipment and printers.
- Experience maintaining inventory and ordering workplace supplies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and operational needs.
Location: Columbia, MD
Work Shift: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Salary: $22 per hour.
