Job summary

The State of California's Employment Development Department (EDD) in West Sacramento is seeking a Mailing Machines Supervisor I to oversee the Production Mail Finishing Unit, train operators, and ensure efficient and accurate mail processing.

This 12 Month Limited Term - Full Time role offers a first-shift schedule (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM) with in-office work and potential overtime as required. Knowledge of USPS equipment and regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mailing machines and related equipment.
• Knowledge of USPS regulations for postage, mail types and ZIP sorting.
• Ability to learn operation of mailing machines and related software.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and document work accurately.
• Ability to work independently and maintain production records.
• Good time management and dependability; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate staff in a Production Mail Finishing Unit on one of three shifts.
• Provide training and technical expertise on mailing equipment.
• Manage equipment maintenance programs and prioritize work.
• Perform quality checks and verify documentation for jobs processed.
