Job summary

Harvard University Mail Services seeks an operations leader to manage the daily functions of Mail and Distribution Services and oversee staff across multiple centers. Responsibilities include mail processing, customer service, billing and budget support, staff training, and ensuring compliance with postal rates and procedures.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential; prior university mail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3–5 years’ experience in mail operations.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a university or mail service setting desirable.
• Knowledge of Harvard University operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages operations of Harvard University Mail Services and related centers.
• Oversees staff training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Manages customer service and billing processes, and maintains postal compliance.
• Ensures staff follow procedures and maintains accurate records.
• Supplements budget planning and reporting for the department.
