Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist licensed pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution. You will label medications, handle hazardous drugs, and support inventory control and administrative tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities include data entry for records, insurance verification, and label generation, plus potential immunization duties under supervision. Certification within 18 months is required, with travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state requirements.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or NHA ExCPT certification within 18 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Assist with medication distribution and labeling, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette; support pharmacy procurement and inventory control.
• Complete documentation for removal, stocking, and waste of controlled substances.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards where applicable.
• Perform sterile IV admixture following aseptic technique where applicable.
• Record patient demographics, insurance verification, and label generation in the pharmacy system.
• Develop competence in third‑party billing functions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient age; immunization certification and administration may be performed under supervision where applicable.
