A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist experienced in long-term care and mail order environments. This contract role provides a unique blend of fast-paced medication dispensing combined with patient-centered consultation and supervision responsibilities. It is ideal for professionals looking to apply their pharmacy expertise while rotating through first and second shifts.

Location:

• Warwick, Rhode Island

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating shifts: 9:30 am to 11:00 pm
• 13-week contract with potential to convert to permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while complying with legal standards
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse
• Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy documentation
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions
• Provide patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management education
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices including blood pressure and glucose monitors
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related patient issues

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island pharmacy license required
• Pharmacy experience with a focus on medication dispensing and patient counseling
