Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis is seeking an Imaging - MRI specialist to lead the daily operations of the department’s imaging services.

The role requires two years of MRI experience and current MRI credentials, with completion of an MRI or Radiology Technology program. The position offers a full-time schedule, potential sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Two years' MRI experience and current MRI credentials.
• Completion of a MRI or Radiology Technology program.
• BLS HealthCare Provider certification and MR credentialing (ARRT or ARMRIT).

Responsibilities

• Leads daily operations of the imaging department to ensure quality care and workflow.
• Oversees imaging quality, patient documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentors staff, conducts orientation and training, and participates in performance evaluations.
• Prepares patients and sets appropriate anatomic/technical parameters for imaging.
• Ensures high-quality images are submitted to PACS with correct markers and data.
• Maintains a safe, clean department and responsive to equipment issues.

Job Summary

Leads the daily operations of assigned department's imaging services.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

• PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures quality in imaging, patient care and work flow. Monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
• Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
• Serves as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed.
• Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provides input to staff performance evaluations.
• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Completion of a MRI or Radiology Technology program

• Two years' experience

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
• Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
• Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Rare kneeling and sitting.

Required Professional License And/Or Certifications

• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• And
• ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Or
• American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
