Job summary

WPI in Worcester is seeking a temporary Research Associate to coordinate joint computational and experimental work with Harvard University. The role focuses on activation/inhibition of cortical neurons by magnetic microstimulation and simulating coil fields in a dense cellular environment.

The position is hybrid, 15 hours per week, through the end of August 2026, paying $35.00 per hour. Candidates should be a biomedical engineer with knowledge of neuronal activation and synaptic interactions;

Qualifications

• Biomedical engineer with knowledge of neuronal activation and interactions including synaptic activation.
• Knowledge of NEURON software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate WPI-MGH joint computational and experimental research work with Professor Fried and his team on activation/inhibition of cortical neurons by magnetic microstimulation (micro-coils).
• Simulation of coil fields in a dense cellular environment.
