Job description

Join to apply for the Magnet Program Manager role at Advocate Health.

Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the processes required to maintain readiness for the Magnet Recognition Program of the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), including application, written document submission, site visits, and interim reporting.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Provide magnet consultation to nursing shared governance, including the Nursing Coordinating Council, Nurse Practice Committee, Nursing Professional Development Committee, and other nursing leadership to achieve Magnet designation goals.
  2. Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop a project plan and ensure timely completion of the Magnet Recognition Program application, documentation, site visits, and reporting.
  3. Implement process improvements to enhance performance outcomes and evidence-based nursing practices.
  4. Coordinate collection and reporting of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) and nurse-sensitive indicators, ensuring compliance with standards and timely data submission.
  5. Validate and disseminate patient outcome data, monitor against benchmarks, and ensure indicator identification in all direct patient care areas.
  6. Maintain expertise in regulatory standards, nursing practice, and Magnet Recognition Program requirements, providing mentorship as needed.
  7. Design and deliver education on Nursing Shared Governance and Magnet standards to Aurora sites.
  8. Participate in system and site Magnet consortiums, sharing information on recognition processes.
  9. Lead and support site Magnet Champions.
  10. Develop and manage a budget for Magnet activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the practicing state.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
  • Typically 7 years of nursing experience, including evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and data analysis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of nursing standards, laws, regulations, and performance improvement.
  • Proficiency in preparing documentation for regulatory and Magnet submissions.
  • Critical thinking, effective communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with staff and leadership.
