Job summary

The Director of Magnet and Nursing Excellence at Maimonides Medical Center leads the Magnet designation process across the health system, guiding readiness assessments, gap analyses, and the final designation while collaborating with nurse leaders and staff to foster a culture of nursing excellence.

This leadership role emphasizes data-driven improvement, engagement strategies, and alignment with Magnet standards across hospital and ambulatory sites, with a focus on program execution and staff

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Three to five years of healthcare or nursing leadership experience.
  • Excellent writing and exceptional presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Capable of multitasking and meeting goals within deadlines.
  • Doctorate in Nursing or Magnet experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Magnet designation processes from readiness to designation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with CNO and Nursing Excellence team and Magnet Champions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support re-designation.
  • Analyze NDNQI data for patient outcomes and nurse satisfaction.
  • Serve as Magnet advisor to nursing leadership and chair Magnet steering committee.
  • Prepare documentation, policies, and informational sessions regarding Magnet.
  • Develop and submit the Magnet application materials.
  • Coordinate organization-wide Magnet process and drive staff involvement.
  • Promote patient safety initiatives through Magnet standards.
