Job summary

UC San Diego Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab at East Campus. You will provide autonomous nursing care during diagnostic and interventional procedures, documenting results and supporting AMI program.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience in Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.
• Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients and delivering care during cardiac and peripheral vascular catheterization procedures.
• The RN circulates or monitors diagnostic and interventional procedures for coronary, carotid, renal, and lower extremity cases.
• As the primary RN circulator, the nurse is responsible for patient care and accurate electronic documentation.
• The position also includes directing and providing guidance to other healthcare team members as needed.
• The RN also builds trust in professional collegial relationships while maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude.
