Job summary

Empower seeks an Analyst to perform U.S. market and economic analysis within the Strategist Office. You’ll research sectors, macroeconomics, and financial markets, support SMA management, and create content for internal and external audiences.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in finance/economics/business and 5 years’ relevant experience; CFA designation preferred. Hybrid position based near Chicago, IL or Greenwood Village, CO, with opportunity for career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in finance, economics, business, or related field strongly preferred.
• 5 years of relevant experience in investment research, economic research, equity research, market strategy, asset management, or related field.
• CFA designation strongly preferred; or progress towards CFA (Level I or II).
• Proficiency with Bloomberg (BBG).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing research coverage of U.S. sectors and industries, with emphasis on valuations and scenario analysis of company and industry fundamentals, including earnings, revenue, and cash flow.
• Conduct macroeconomic and financial market research and contribute to quarterly and annual Economic and Market Outlooks.
• Support the management of a separately managed account (SMA) by providing research, analysis, and insights related to portfolio positioning and performance.
• Conduct ad hoc economic, market, sector, and industry research in support of media, conferences, and client needs.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop research-driven content for internal and external audiences.
