Job description

Within a global team of data analysts, data scientists, and content experts, across each of the client’s key geographic locations, the Investment Data Analyst will serve as a steward for all internal and external data content to provide actionable data to our Macro business.

Key responsibilities:

1. Work with our Data Sourcing & Strategy team, Portfolio Managers, Analysts and Data Vendors to assist in the delivery and evaluation of new datasets.
2. Understand use cases of investors and serve as an in-house data expert across a wide range of datasets to translate requirements and design data models for appropriate storage, distribution and consumption.
3. Take ownership and manage data onboarding requirements by authoring content documentation and working closely with Data Engineers to assist them with automating our data ingestion pipeline.
4. Create and enhance python-based Data Quality Checks as part of the onboarding process to ensure data is suitable for consumption.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
2. A passion for data with experience in applying that to high quality data products in an investment setting.
3. Ability to wrangle data and perform exploratory and systematic data analysis.
4. Experience with Macro and Commodity data vendors.
5. Understand the macro landscape and act as a source of expertise for the broader team, helping us become a true partner to the macro business.
6. Demonstrated track record of ownership, leadership, project management and ability to set and achieve the highest standards for the team.
7. Experience working in an agile environment and with development teams to balance requests from across a wide range of stakeholders.
8. Experience in coding in Python.
9. Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
10. Familiarity with AWS Product Suite including S3, Redshift, Spectrum and SNS a plus.
11. Strong oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences in mind.
