Job summary

Manitowoc Pattern & Machining (MP&M) in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a Machinist for a full-time, weekend-day shift (Fri-Sun, 5:00 AM–5:00 PM). You will set up and optimize CNC machines to maximize efficiency and produce quality parts while working a three-day week and being paid for 40 hours.

You will read process sheets in English, collaborate with engineering, and ensure documentation meets ISO, IATF and AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machines and tools, production processes and design techniques.
• Knowledge of Mastercam Software.
• Knowledge of basic math applications.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to solve problems.
• Maintain close attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and follow process sheets and work instructions in English.
• Identify and address quality issues; collaborate with engineering.
• Create 3-D models/drawings for tooling fabrication.
• Comply with ISO, IATF, and AS9100 standards when documenting machine setup.
• Perform general maintenance and organization of equipment and tooling.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operations.

Schedule:

• Friday - Sunday
• 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Work just 3 days per week
• 36 hours worked, paid for 40 hours

What You'll Do:

• Effectively communicate, verbally and written, in English
• Read and understand process sheets and work instructions in English
• Ability to hear
• Good vision including close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Create 3-5 Axis tool path utilizing Master Cam Software
• Determine methods, cutter types, and cutting parameters based on material design and specifications
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure quality and design objectives are achieved
• Design basic 3-D computer models, drawings and specifications for fabrication of tooling and machined elements
• Comply with ISO, IATF, and AS9100 standards when documenting machine setup
• Perform general maintenance, cleaning, and organization of equipment and tooling
• Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operators
