xenergy seeks an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist for our XTAC Workshop Facility. You will program, set up, and operate advanced CNC equipment to manufacture high-precision components, while supporting engineering and testing activities.
You will read engineering drawings, develop toolpaths, design fixtures, and perform inspections with precision instruments, ensuring quality and traceability in a safety-conscious environment.
The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining advanced CNC machining equipment within the XTAC Workshop Facility. This role supports the manufacturing of high-precision components and contributes directly to engineering and testing activities. The position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, accurate data collection, and proactive equipment care to ensure consistent, high-quality output. This position will report to the Workshop Manager
Develop CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, etc.) to produce efficient and reliable toolpaths for complex components.
Independently set up and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines, including dual-spindle lathes and 5-axis mills, while maintaining required tolerances.
Perform machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, broaching, and machining of metallic and nonmetallic materials.
Design and produce custom fixturing/workholding solutions; mount, align, and secure tooling and workpieces for optimal performance.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications to determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and sequencing.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to implement new processes, tooling concepts, and manufacturing technologies.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to part machinability, process efficiency, and equipment utilization.
Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools (micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, etc.).
Document all work activities clearly, completely, and in accordance with company procedures and traceability requirements.
Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate equipment, process, or quality issues promptly to supervisors or engineering staff.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance.
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and hazardous-materials handling requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with safety and 5S/lean workplace standards.
Assist in training new team members on machine operation, shop practices, and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
