Job description

The Machinist Tech II has a good general knowledge of all areas of the machine shop. This person can complete most tasks with moderate supervision and is beginning to take on leadership roles. They are a team player willing to help train and mentor others at or below their skill level. The individual must demonstrate a strong commitment to L&H values and safety processes.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Plan and conduct all work activities with safety as their priority
2. Observe and be knowledgeable of all safety regulations and procedures
3. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment
4. Perform tasks such as centering, turning, re-shafting, threading, boring, milling, grooving, drilling, tapping, and programming/setup of CNC machines
5. Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
6. Learn standard tolerances for hydraulic applications
7. Set up machine components and maintain machinery in good working order
8. Measure parts using precision tools like OD/ID micrometers and dial calipers
9. Maintain quality, accuracy, and timeliness in work
10. Willingness to learn any necessary task, basic or complex

Required

• At least 18 years old
• 3 years of experience with CNC mills and lathes
• 3 years of experience with programming and setting up machines
• Safety-oriented with machining process experience
• Proficient in using precision measuring tools and blueprint reading
• Ability to work independently after training and good communication skills
• Willing to learn and be a team player

Preferred

• Experience in an industrial job shop
• OSHA safety training
• Overhead crane and forklift training

Special Demands

• Lift or carry 75 lbs
