Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division in Shelby, NC is seeking a Machinist to perform routine and semi-routine machining on manual and CNC tools, producing precision components from blueprints while following inspection requirements.

You will set up machines, select tooling and parameters, inspect parts with precision equipment, and contribute to a safe, compliant production environment. The workplace offers competitive pay and a range of benefits.

Job description

Machinist

As a Machinist you will independently perform routine and semi-routine machining assignments using a variety of manual and numerically controlled machine tools. Apply working knowledge of machining methods, tooling, specifications, and inspection requirements to produce precision components while resolving routine setup and production issues.

Location: Shelby, NC Salary: $25 - $30/Hr

  • Your Challenge Plan and perform routine and semi-routine machine setups and operations across multiple types of machining equipment; select tooling, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and standard machining methods within established parameters. (35%)
  • Manufacture precision parts and tooling from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and process documentation; apply shop mathematics and geometric calculations to meet dimensional and tolerance requirements. (25%)
  • Inspect work throughout the machining process using precision measurement equipment; identify routine dimensional, tooling, or process deviations and make appropriate adjustments. (20%)
  • Diagnose and correct minor machine or process problems; perform basic equipment maintenance and support compliance with production, quality, documentation, safety, security, and housekeeping requirements. (20%)
What You Bring
  • Working knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, blueprint interpretation, dimensional tolerances, shop mathematics, and precision inspection techniques.
  • Ability to independently complete standard machine setups and resolve routine production issues.
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing quality systems, traceability, configuration-controlled documentation, or similar regulated manufacturing requirements preferred.
