Job summary

Superior Essex Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist in Kansas to perform general repair work and maintenance on industrial equipment. The role involves operating lathes, mills, drill presses and grinders, and fabricating or repairing parts as needed.

You will document work orders, inspect equipment, and assist with tool selection and calibration. A high school diploma or GED and at least three years of machinist experience are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a Machinist.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to use various hand and power tools and operate shop equipment.
• Ability to research machine tool handbooks and blue prints to determine part numbers or tooling.

Responsibilities

• Repairs existing equipment and spare parts when machining is required.
• Measures pieces of production equipment for wear using micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges and calipers.
• Prepares documentation of drawings, layouts, time sheets, work orders and cost reduction/safety proposals.
• Troubleshoots equipment by observing operation from an alignment perspective.
• Initiates parts requests for tooling to complete repairs.
• Stocks and orders materials, researching handbooks and blue prints for part numbers.
