Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled manual machinist for our Kansas City plant. You will analyze specs, lay out stock, set up and operate tools to repair dies, jigs, gauges and related tools.

You’ll verify dimensions with precision measuring tools and complete repairs as needed to meet specifications. Strong reading and writing in English is required, as is the ability to work up to 12 hours daily, including weekends, and to obtain a hi-lo license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English safely and effectively.
• Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, including weekends.
• Must obtain a hi-lo license.

Responsibilities

• Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock and fit/assemble parts.
• Set up and operate machine tools and inspect finished parts.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances with calipers and micrometers.
• Complete repairs on dies and select appropriate metals.
• Study blueprints and drawings to determine materials and machines needed.
