Role Description

The Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position located in Wamego, KS. The Machinist will set up and operate manual and CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and materials, performing measurements and inspections, and making adjustments to ensure parts meet quality and safety standards. The role also involves routine machine maintenance, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and collaborating with team members to meet production schedules and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Proficiency in operating manual and/or CNC machines, including setup, tooling selection, and basic programming or parameter adjustments.
• Strong measurement and inspection skills using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Knowledge of machining processes, materials, cutting speeds, feeds, and shop safety practices.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to maintain high quality standards under production deadlines.
• Willingness to perform routine equipment maintenance and follow cleanliness and organization standards in the work area.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a shop environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is preferred.
• Previous experience as a machinist or in a related manufacturing role is beneficial.
