Superior Essex Communications seeks a Machinist to perform general repair and maintenance on shop equipment, operating lathes, mills, drill presses and grinders. The role also involves fabricating or repairing parts and performing routine preventive maintenance and servicing tasks.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of machinist experience, with the ability to read blueprints and reference machine tool handbooks for part numbers and tooling

Responsabilidades

• Repairs existing equipment and machined components as needed.
• Measure production equipment wear using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauges.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, time sheets and work orders; suggest safety or cost-reduction improvements.
• Troubleshoot equipment by observing operation and alignment; assist with tooling requests.
• Stock and order materials; identify part numbers using blueprints and handbooks.

Position Overview

The Machinist performs general repair work and maintenance on all equipment. This position will operate industrial lathes, mills, drill press and grinding equipment. This position will also be required to fabricate or repair new or damaged parts, and perform routine preventative maintenance and servicing tasks such as oiling, greasing, and inspections on equipment.

This position will also be required to fabricate or repair new or damaged parts, and perform routine preventative maintenance and servicing tasks such as oiling, greasing, and inspections on equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Repairs existing equipment and spare parts when machining is required
• Measures pieces of production equipment when not in operation for excessive wear. This requires the assembly, calibration and use of inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges and calipers
• Prepares documentation of drawings, layouts, time sheets, work orders and cost reduction or safety proposals for work completed
• Helps to troubleshoot equipment by observing equipment operation from an alignment perspective
• Initiates necessary parts request form for required machine tooling so repairs can be completed.
• Stocks and orders materials which requires the employee to research machine tool handbooks and blue prints to determine part numbers or identification of needed tooling

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum Experience Required

• Three (3) years of experience as a Machinist

License(s) and/or Certification(s) Required

• Ability to use various hand and power tools and operate all types of shop equipment
• Ability to research machine tool handbooks and blue prints to determine part numbers or identification of needed tooling
