Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in El Paso, Texas, seeks skilled machinists to support a large copper rod and refinery complex. You’ll perform routine maintenance, develop solutions for maintenance situations, and document Work Orders while training teammates.

Strong weld/cutting skills and proficiency with mills, lathes, and related machines are essential. Four years’ experience in machining and a vocational technical background are required, with ability to read English safety instructions and operate

Qualifications

• Four (4) years' experience in the crafts of Machinist, Line Boring, Welding, Boiler Maker.
• Proficiency in welding/cutting and mechanical aptitude with safety emphasis.
• Ability to operate listed manual machines and understand English safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance activities.
• Develop solutions for maintenance situations.
• Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
• Train and mentor maintenance employees.
• Perform other duties as required.
