Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Machinist to repair, modify, and fabricate parts for equipment. You will operate engine lathes, grinders, welding gear, and related tools, reading blueprints, and measuring with calipers and micrometers.

Training includes Basic and Advanced Individual Training, with real pay during drills and access to education benefits. Through hands-on practice, you’ll gain skills applicable to civilian manufacturing and repair shops.

Qualifications

• Interest in math, general science, metal working, and mechanical drawing.
• Interest in making things and finding solutions to mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and welding gear.
• Read blueprints or plans to fabricate parts and measure with calipers/micrometers.
