Job summary

Safariland in Golden, CO is seeking a Level 2 CNC machinist to process, program, and setup prototype and production parts. You will set up and operate 3-axis CNC machines, select tooling, run production jobs, and troubleshoot issues to ensure parts meet drawings.

Ideal candidates have MasterCam Level 2 certification, GD&T knowledge, and strong math skills. The role supports a fast-paced manufacturing environment with opportunities to develop others and advance within the shop.

Qualifications

• NFT Machine Shop – Basic understanding of G and M codes.
• Level 2 Certification in MasterCam.
• Good knowledge of GD&T.
• General math skills including basic trigonometry and algebra.
• High school diploma or GED.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

• Set up, program, and operate 3 axis CNC machines. [JR – Set up and operate, limited programming.]
• Select and order the appropriate tooling needed for the job at hand.
• Run production and rapid prototype jobs.
• Trouble shoot problems of parts being manufactured and find solutions to correct the problems.
• Inspect one-off and multiple-piece orders to meet customer print requirements.
• Help develop lower-level machinists as instructed.
• CNC and Manual Lathe and mill setup

Essential Job Requirements

• Must possess the ability to safely operate, understand and setup many pieces of CNC equipment along with other manual pieces of equipment.
• Be able to read and understand drawings.
• Apply good communication skills to relay to other machinists and managers the status of current jobs, problems, and any other pertinent work information.
• Job hour estimation.
• Fixture creation. [NFT Machine Shop – Not required but preferred.]
• Good problem-solving skills.
