Job summary

Qualifications

  • Read engineering drawings, sketches, and CAD/CAM files.
  • Operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders).
  • Set up and run precision machining processes.
  • Inspect parts and verify tolerances with micro-precision tools.
  • Demonstrate strong safety and manufacturing knowledge.

We are looking for a talented Machinist IV to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC .

Job Summary:

Works with relevant functions to analyze, design and manufacture complex components using machine tool equipment. Thoroughly understands the protocols of working safely with industrial equipment, electricity and other energy sources. Acts as a formal resource coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

  • Read Blueprints:

    Interpret complex engineering drawings, sketches, and CAD/CAM files.

  • Machine Operation:

    Set up and operate manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines, such as lathes, millers, and grinders.

  • Assembly and Fitting:

    File, grind, shim, and adjust metal parts to ensure exact alignment and fit.

  • Quality Control:

    Measure dimensions using micro-precision tools to verify tolerances - often within fractions of a thousandth of an inch.

Base Rate: $29.00 - $40.45/hr

Shift Premium: $1.00/hr
