Job summary

Productivity Inc in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Machinist – Inventory / Tool Crib Specialist to support tooling inventory systems for our metal manufacturing customers. The role combines machining knowledge with software and hardware installations to keep tool crib data accurate.

You will gather customer tooling information, enter or upload data, coordinate with vendors, and assist with software maintenance and training. Travel ~40% is required, with a 7am–4pm schedule and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Tool Room/Machining experience working with cutting tools.
• Professional customer service and communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficient PC/computer skills - especially Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work as a team or independently.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
• Inventory experience helpful, e.g. cycle counting, inventory adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer tooling information at customer manufacturing locations. Review data in Excel or identify tooling items. Enter or upload data in master Excel spreadsheet.
• Ensure customer tooling items align with current vendors; work with inside support to locate alternatives, check pricing and delivery.
• Install tool crib inventory software and hardware; load tooling data and troubleshoot errors.
• Organize tooling items, load items into vending equipment, run complete tool crib inventory, fix discrepancies.
• Perform software maintenance and upgrades; train customers on software.
• Provide installation status updates and address questions professionally.

Machinist – Inventory / Tool Crib Specialist

Looking for a Machinist to help support our metal manufacturing customers with their tooling/tool crib inventory systems.

Machinist – Inventory / Tool Crib Specialist Responsibilities

• Gather customer tooling information at customer manufacturing locations. This may involve reviewing data in Excel or physically identifying tooling items. Upload or enter customer tooling information in master Excel spreadsheet.
• Ensure customer tooling items align with our current vendors. If necessary, work with inside support team to locate alternative items for the customer, checking pricing and delivery per customer requirements.
• Work as part of the installation team to install tool crib inventory software and hardware. Load tooling inventory data into software and troubleshoot errors.
• Organize tooling items, load items into vending equipment, take a complete tool crib inventory, and correct any discrepancies.
• Perform software maintenance and upgrades. Assist all existing customers with software and hardware support as needed. Train customers on the software.
• Throughout installation, update the customer on installation status, field questions and address concerns in a professional manner.
• Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position.

Machinist – Inventory / Tool Crib Specialist Requirements

• 2+ years of Tool Room/Machining experience working with cutting tools
