Job summary

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, set up multiple machines, and verify tolerances using precision measurement tools, CMM, and SPC knowledge. ITAR compliance requires US Person eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machining experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year machining degree preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece for machining operations.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, tools, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders and shapers.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors and inputs commands to machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and makes adjustments as needed.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece using calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, and familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy and program data.
• Confers with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining issues.
• Completes necessary paperwork and computer entry steps.
• Other duties may be assigned.
