Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace in Malden, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Operator. You will set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines, working with engineers to meet work orders and blueprint specifications.

Candidates should have 7+ years of CNC machining experience, be able to read blueprints, understand G and M codes, and work without sponsorship. This onsite role supports ITAR/EAR compliance and team growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• 7+ years as CNC Machinist Operator.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines and related equipment per programs, fixtures, and methods.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Programmers to edit and adjust parts to specifications.
• Operate more than one machine in a cellular environment.
• Interpret feeds, speeds, cutting tools and applications; inspect features per blueprints.
• Complete paperwork for counts, scrap, time, and other records per policy.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area; assist with training others.

About the Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Machinists, who has completed a CNC Machining Program. You will have the opportunity to work with inspiring team of experienced Machinists and Engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Set Up and operates CNC lathes and/or Milling machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.
• Work with our Engineers and Programmers to make all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blueprint specifications/sketches.
• The ability to operate more than one machine in a cellular environment is required.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application.
• Inspects work for all dimensional features as required.
• Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
• Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc. According to Company policy.
• Performs duties always exercising good machining practices.
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, safe, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.
• Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary.
• Trains, guides, and assists other employees as required.
• Observes all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety, and security.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• 7+ years or more as CNC Machinist Operator.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Able to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Understanding of G and M Codes
• Excellent Interpersonal skills
• Troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to attend off-site training and be willing to learn.

Working Conditions:

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
