Job summary

RENA Technologies North A in Albany, OR seeks an experienced Machinist II to set up and operate manual lathes and mills, machine specialty plastics to close tolerances, and review red lines for the department. The ideal candidate will have a 2-year technical degree preferred and 5 years of manual machining experience, own tools, and proficiency in SolidWorks and Mastercam.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Machinist II.
• Machining specialty plastics and close tolerance work.
• Work with non-standard set-ups.
• Operate a manual lathe including single point threading and a manual mill.
• Understand cutting speeds and feeds; select blades accordingly.
• Perform quality control measures and inspections on machined parts.
• Create, review, and implement all red lines for department.
• Train others effectively.
• Be proficient with SolidWorks to manipulate 3D solid parts.
• Be proficient with Mastercam software.
• All other tasks assigned.

About this position

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to perform all the duties of a Machinist II.
• Experienced with machining specialty plastics and performing close tolerance work.
• Experienced with non-standard set-ups.
• Proficient at operating a manual lathe including but not limited to single point threading and operating a manual mill.
• Must be proficient at the fundamentals of cutting - speeds and feeds, blade selection, etc.
• Perform quality control measures and inspections on machined parts.
• Create, review, and implement all red lines for department
• Ability to train others effectively
• Proficient at Solidworks software with the ability to manipulate 3D solid part files.
• Proficient at Mastercam software.
• All other tasks assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

• 2-year Technical Degree preferred.
• Manual Machining: 5 years preferred.
• Have own machinist tools.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instruction.
• Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
