Pursuit Aerospace is seeking an experienced Second Shift Machinist to join our Newburyport, MA manufacturing team. The role requires CNC machining program completion and a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a machine shop, with the ability to operate multiple machines in a cellular setting.

About the Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced Second Shift Machinist who has completed a CNC Machining Program and has a minimum of 3 years of solid machining experience. You will have the opportunity to work with an inspiring team of experienced Machinists and Engineers.

Location: Newburyport, MA.

This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

• Set Up and operate CNC lathes and/or Milling machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.
• Work with our Engineers and Programmers to make all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blueprint specifications/sketches.
• The ability to operate more than one machine in a cellular environment is required.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application.
• Inspect work for all dimensional features as required.
• Produce quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
• Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc. According to Company policy.
• Perform duties always exercising good machining practices.
• Maintain area, equipment and tooling in a neat, safe, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.
• Maintain coolant tanks and fills as necessary.
• Train, guide and assist other employees as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency certified required.
• 3+ years or more of Machining background and/or experience in a machine shop.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of G and M Codes.
• Able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
