Sargent Aerospace & Defense, a unit of RBC Bearings, is seeking a Machinist II for CMS operations in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on conventional machining, precision measurement, and continuous improvement within a safety-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience operating lathes, mills, and surface grinders, with strong reading of blueprints and engineering drawings. Overtime and a sign-on bonus are highlighted benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and able to read/write English.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience running a conventional lathe, mill, and surface grinder.
• Experience in tool making and self-directed processing for tool build.
• Ability to read, interpret technical drawings, routers and specifications.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques for inspection and shop mathematics.

Responsabilités

• Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Model Safe behaviors at all times and follow quality control standards.
• Set up and run manual mills, lathes, surface grinders and other machines.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers.
• Monitor operations and react quickly to non-conforming work.
• Produce and inspect parts with continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide directions and assist others with process practices and issues.
