Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense in Tucson, AZ seeks a Machinist I to support machining operations, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with a team, read drawings, operate milling, drilling, grinding and honing machines, and adhere to safety and ITAR/EAR requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Available to work overtime as required.
• Understanding of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and work instructions.
• Basic understanding of measuring and inspection equipment and theory.
• May be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of safety standards and maintain safe behaviors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform equipment maintenance checks.
• Adhere to company quality standards.
• Perform operations per drawings and documented procedures.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Monitor operations and address non-conformances.
• Produce and inspect parts at rate.
• Deburr parts using milling, drilling, grinding and other machines.
• Identify parts using vibro-pen, electro chemical etching, CNC engraver, dot peen, or equivalent.
• Hone parts with vertical/horizontal honing machines.
• Perform SPC.
