Job summary

American Construction Metals (ACM) is seeking a Machinist to join our Alabama-based manufacturing team. You will work with a skilled group including a tool and die maker, manufacturing engineers, maintenance mechanics, and machine operators.

Responsibilities include operating CNC mills, maintaining equipment, and interpreting blueprints to produce metal building components. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• HS/GED or 2-year technical degree required.
• Experience with punch press dies, roll formers, decoilers or flying shear is highly valued.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for product and tool design.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts.
• Excellent organizational skills and manufacturing knowledge.
• Strong math skills and ability to multitask.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills, vertical mills, grinders and lathes.
• Maintain a safe work environment; safety first.
• Repair, sharpen and troubleshoot production machinery.
• Plan set-ups and interpret blueprints/schematics for tool designs and specs.
• Create and design when plans are unavailable.
• Other duties as assigned.
