Job summary

MTI is a precision machining and fabrication shop in New Mexico seeking a Machinist II for the Mill Department. The role reports to the Mill Lead and involves running multiple 3-axis Haas mills, Mastercam programming, and mentoring junior machinists.

We are AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR registered, with competitive benefits including health, dental, and retirement plans. Growth opportunities exist for advancing to Machinist III.

Qualifications

• Ability to program in Mastercam.

• Ability to read blueprints and perform GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate multiple 3-axis Haas mills across our machining center lineup.
• Program in Mastercam.
• Manage more than one machine at a time while holding tolerances and throughput.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Inspect your own work using calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins.
• Mentor Machinist I team members as needed.

Job description

MTI is a precision machining and fabrication shop looking for a Machinist II to join our Mill Department. We are AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR registered, and have been building complex, high quality parts in New Mexico since 1989.

This role reports to the Mill Lead and runs multiple 3-axis mills at once. It is a strong fit for an experienced machinist who can juggle several machines while holding quality and pace.

What you will do:

• Program, set up, and operate multiple 3-axis Haas mills across our machining center lineup
• Program in Mastercam
• Manage more than one machine at a time while holding tolerances and throughput
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Inspect your own work using calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins
• Mentor Machinist I team members as needed

What we are looking for:

• Ability to program in Mastercam
• Experience running multiple 3-axis mills at once
• Experience on Haas controls
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
• Attention to detail and pride in accurate work
• Reliable, on time, and a team player
• High school diploma or equivalent

This position has a great opportunity for growth. A Machinist II can go on to be a Machinist III making $36-45/hr. Machinist III have the opportunity for management positions with even higher wages.
