Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. invites skilled maintenance craftsmen to join our Miami smelter and rod plant, located about 90 miles east of Phoenix.

You will perform and lead routine maintenance, read blueprints, and procure parts to support copper production in a 24/7 operation. We value safety and environmental compliance, require 6 years in relevant crafts, and offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience in Machinist, Line Boring, Welding, or Boiler Maker crafts.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass a written assessment on skills, safety, and knowledge.
• Proficiency in welding/cutting and operating lathes, milling machines, saws, and drill presses.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Experience with Komatsu Electric Shovels and Epiroc Diesel Drills preferred.

• Provide leadership in safety, environmental compliance, and MSHA regulations.
• Complete work orders, order parts, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Develop solutions for mechanical issues and maintenance challenges.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Six (6) years of experience in Machinist, Line Boring, Welding, or Boiler Maker crafts.
• Completion of required academic and practical competencies.
• Ability to pass a written assessment on skills, safety, and knowledge.
• Proficiency in welding/cutting and operating lathes, milling machines, saws, and drill presses.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Experience with Komatsu Electric Shovels and Epiroc Diesel Drills preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and industrial conditions.
• Required to wear PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and more.
• Must be able to stand, sit, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.
• Subject to pre-employment and ongoing drug testing per applicable laws.
• Experience rebuilding machine pump parts

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$31.00 - $41.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
