Job summary

Benchmark in Concord, CA is seeking a full-time Machinist Level I-II to set up and operate a range of machining equipment. The role requires reading complex blueprints, performing precise machining and quality checks, and maintaining tight tolerances.

You will work in a safety-sensitive environment with a 3:15pm–1:45am shift and join a team focused on precision manufacturing. Candidates should have a 2-year technical degree or apprenticeship and be proficient in CNC programming and measurement

Qualifications

• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Understand manufacturing systems and tooling development.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, millers, shapers, grinders, planers and drills.
• Read blueprints and perform machining operations with tight tolerances.
• Check own work and ensure tolerances +/- .00005 to +/- .001 depending on phase.
• Work with fixtures, gauges and measurement blocks to verify dimensions.
• Operate safely in a 24/7 global business environment.
