Job summary

Nordson EFD, a global leader in Engineered Fluid Dispensing, is seeking an experienced technician to work in our molding and production environment in Norwich, CT. The role focuses on following the department schedule, performing mold changeovers, and maintaining quality through careful inspection and recordkeeping.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year with industrial machinery or automotive mechanics, and familiarity with molds.

Qualifications

• Math and reading comprehension.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand micrometers and calibers (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Follow & update IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements.
• Green-tag readied molds; move to staging area in molding department.
• Disassemble & clean molds; inspect for problems.
• Install changeover parts as required.
• Take measurements to determine wear & proper sizes of pins, bushings, and hold dimensions.
• Keep records up to date, including mold tagging system.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Practice good housekeeping and prevent pollution.
• Use power hand tools as necessary.
• Use Ice Blaster as required.

JOB SUMMARY

Work independently and follow the overall work schedule, as determined by the department leader. Clean molds and complete mold changeovers to meet schedule requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow & update IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements, as determined by the planner
• Green-tag readied molds; move to staging area in molding department
• Disassemble & clean molds; inspect for problems.
• Install changeover parts, as required
• Take measurements to determine wear & proper sizes of pins, bushings, and hold dimensions
• Keep records up to date, including mold tagging system.
• Other duties as assigned
• Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment
• Use power hand tool as necessary

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 years of experience working with industrial machinery and/or automotive in a mechanical aspect
• Experience working with injection molds, preferred
• Experience with forklift and pallet jack operation, preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent stooping and bending.
• Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility.
