Job summary

Nordson EFD LLC is seeking an experienced production-focused professional to assist the production supervisor in coordinating high-quality, efficient manufacturing activities at our Rhode Island facility.

Qualifications

  • Some mechanical capability and computer skills.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety required.
  • Five years of experience with operating production/machining equipment.
  • Five years of set-up experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Basic computer navigation skills.
  • CNC lathe and milling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the production supervisor in coordinating effective, efficient production-related activities.
  • Determine daily production needs and assign to Production Associates accordingly.
  • Lead Production Associates to work safely and efficiently to meet schedules.
  • Train, instruct, and supervise employees in production methods to ensure quality and timely output.
  • Operate equipment to meet required production schedules and resolve quality problems with other areas.
  • Cross-train in other areas as needed and maintain good housekeeping to prevent pollution.

Job Description

Under general supervision, this position assists the production supervisor in the administration and coordination of effective, efficient, and high-quality production related activities.

Shift: M_F 3:00pm 11:30pm

  • Demonstrate and promote the Nordson safety culture of "Journey to Zero" and that all accidents are preventable.
  • Assist assigned Shift Supervisor in determining daily production needs and assign to Production Associates accordingly.
  • Determine proper priorities and coordinate movement of component parts appropriately.
  • Lead Production Associates on team in working safely and efficiently to meet all production work requirements assigned by following operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands.
  • Operate necessary equipment to meet required Production schedules.
  • Work with other production areas, as necessary, to resolve quality problems.
  • May perform equipment set-up, calibration, and routine preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to success of team by submitting improvement ideas, identifying potential problems, providing feedback on new methods or method changes and by displaying a positive, cooperative attitude in working with orders.
  • Willing to cross train in other areas and perform in those areas as needed.
  • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment.
  • Other related duties depending on business needs.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Some mechanical capability & computer skills required.
  • SAP experience preferred.
