Job description

For nearly 200 years, the machines Cooper builds and services have powered the natural gas industry that heats homes, fuels industry, and keeps America moving. Every Cooper-Bessemer, AJAX, and Superior engine in the field started on a machinist's table — and in Marshall, Texas, that table is yours.

As a Machinist II, you'll turn blueprints into precision parts that get legendary compression equipment back in the field, faster. If you take pride in tight tolerances, clean work, and a job done right the first time, we want to put you on the machine.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Read blueprints, drawings, and job cards to nail dimensions, tolerances, and finish requirements.
  • Repair and restore parts that keep Cooper's natural gas compression fleet running.
  • Set up and independently run assigned machines, including holding fixtures, cutting tools, and offsets.
  • Perform dimensional layout and inspection to confirm every part conforms to print.
  • Deburr, stamp, and finish parts to the standard our customers expect.
  • Keep your work area safe and clean — chips swept, oil disposed of, PPE on, every shift.
WHO YOU ARE
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Skilled with precision measuring tools: dial and Vernier calipers, ID mics, depth mics, ball mics.
  • Comfortable reading complex drawings and applying trade math on the shop floor.
  • Able to lift 40+ lbs and handle a physically active shift — standing, bending, kneeling.
  • Certified (or ready to certify) on forklift, pallet jack, and crane operation.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as production demands.
  • Safety-focused, dependable, and a strong teammate who takes ownership of the outcome.
PREFERRED
  • Vo-Tech certificate in machining or a related trade.
  • Working knowledge of oilfield assemblies.
