Description

We are seeking an experienced Machinist I to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft. Under immediate supervision, operates and is proficient in operating one or more types of computer numeric controlled (CNC) production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. General understanding of various machinery and equipment necessary to produce metal components
  2. Must follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out
  3. Understand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hour
  4. Consistent and accurate counts of materials and products
  5. Performs necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communication
  6. Ability to perform basic adjustments and repairs to machines with assistance
  7. Ability to set up workstation according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiency
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures
  9. Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
  10. Ability to change out tooling for machines
  11. Ability to complete the first part approval process for all jobs
  12. Accurately check out tools through tool crib inventory system
  13. May assist with machine set up
  14. Ability to read, write and save setup sheets for various machines
  15. Ability to deburr parts, potentially by hand

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or practical experience gained from a recognized technical or vocational institution is a plus
  2. 0-12 mos. machining experience required
  3. Working knowledge of machinery with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred

Skills and Competencies

  1. Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
  2. Ability to understand and follow instructions
  3. Effective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgency
  4. Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges
  5. Read tape measure and perform basic math (fractions, decimals, etc.)
  6. Capability to differentiate metals (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, etc.)
  7. Ability to be forklift certified
  8. Ability to follow hoist safety protocols
  9. Self-motivated, takes initiative

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
  2. Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
  3. Excellent hand/eye coordination
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
  5. Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  6. Consistently wear personal protective equipment
  7. Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

The expected base pay range for this position is between $18 and $22 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
