Job summary

Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Machinist I for the Construction / Fab Shop, DAY shift. You will manufacture precision parts for conveyors, processing equipment, structures, and related components using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders and hand tools.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of vertical milling machines and lathes, strong math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read English.

MACHINIST I

LOCATION: CONSTRUCTION / FAB SHOP

SHIFT: DAY

Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Machinist I responsible to manufacture precision parts needed for the construction, maintenance, repair, or alteration of conveyors, processing equipment, structures, etc., using: mills, lathes, drill press, radial arm drill, hand drill, grinders and hand tools. What You Will Need:
  • Basic knowledge and some experience with vertical milling machines, engine lathes, drill presses and hand tools, required.
  • Understanding of machine and tool functions, including their design, repair and maintenance procedures, required.
  • Strong math skills, required
  • Must be able to perform precise measurements and have attention to detail.
  • Must follow company policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout and proper PPE use.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, required.
  • Occasional local travel will be required depending on business need.
  • Ability to read and understand written information in English, required.
  • Remote work not available for this position.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company policy, insurance, and DMV requirements.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment screening consistent with applicable state and federal law.
What Will Set You Apart:
  • Valid Forklift Certificate, preferred.
  • General knowledge of material and labor estimates, metals machinability, and use of metal alloys and other materials, preferred.
  • Familiarity with design techniques involving principals in the production of precision technical parts from drawings and/or samples, preferred.
Benefits
Total Rewards: $19.50 / HOUR
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
