Job summary

Astroseal Products is seeking a Machinist/Facilities Support Technician to serve as the facility’s primary hands-on machinist and mechanical support technician. You will manufacture, modify, and repair precision parts, tooling, fixtures, and machine components, and provide practical facilities support to keep the shop and equipment ready for production.

The role demands setup and operation of manual lathes and milling machines, inspection with micrometers and calipers, and preventive maintenance

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.
Three+ years as a manual machinist or related role in manufacturing preferred.
Ability to set up and operate manual lathes and mills; read drawings to tolerances.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, presses, and related shop equipment.
Plan machining sequences, select materials and tooling; perform turning, milling, drilling, and finishing.
Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, indicators; verify tolerances and finishes.
Diagnose mechanical issues and repair or fabricate replacement parts as needed.
Provide facilities support for building needs and coordinate with contractors when required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintain safe, clean work areas; follow safety procedures.
