Job summary

Mersen, a global expert in electrical specialties and advanced materials, seeks a skilled machinist to adjust and set equipment based on dossiers and blueprints and to machine pre-production items.

You will use the proper machining tools, ensure traceability, identify waste reductions, perform first-level maintenance, and tutor new starters while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

• Adjusts and sets equipment to perform machining per dossier and blueprints.
• Uses the appropriate machining tools.
• Machines pre‑production items and validates first items in a production run.
• Identifies improvements to reduce waste and meet production timing.

• Ensures traceability and reports on work performed.

Responsibilities

• Undertakes adjustment and setting of specific equipment to carry out machining operations, based on a dossier and blueprints. (Assessment indicator: Scrap rate)
• Uses the appropriate machining tools. (Assessment indicator: Tools in good condition)
• Machines pre‑production items and prototypes, follows established controls to validate the first items manufactured in a production run. (Assessment indicator: Scrap rate)
• Looks for potential improvements to reduce wastage and keep within production time. (Assessment indicator: Scrap rate, CONQ)
• Detects machining faults and seeks corrective actions. (Assessment indicator: Metrics)
• Ensures the required traceability (product/process), and reports on his/her work. (Assessment indicator: Manufacturing order filled out)
• Carries out first‑level maintenance on equipment. (Assessment indicator: Maintenance process follow‑up)
• Provides technical support and tutors new starters. (Assessment indicator: Number of support actions)
