Job summary

FMI is seeking a Machinist at our Morin Street site in Maine. The role emphasizes manual machining of carbon/carbon and related components, reading drawings with geometric tolerances, and sustaining tooling and equipment in a safe, clean environment.

You will participate in Lean activities, follow safety procedures, and contribute to high-quality, precise production for aerospace-grade parts.

Qualifications

• Requires reading drawings with GD&T and tolerances.
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and perform geometric calculations.
• Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and fabricate metal parts using mechanical equipment.
• Assemble parts into sub-units or complete units.
• Follow blueprints to ensure dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up and operate vertical mill, lathe, grinders, and band saws.
• Inspect in-process work to technical requirements.
• Maintain tooling and machine condition.
