Pay Range: $25.86 to $39.78 per hour (based on experience, education, qualifications, and skills)

General Description:

The Machinist 4 sets up and operates various industrial machines, including CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and surface grinders to machine ceramic parts. They may operate 1-4 machines simultaneously, understand setup and precision measurement, and train other operators and machinists.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 7+ years CNC experience or completion of a 2-year Machine Technology certificate
  • Ability to read and understand instructions in English
  • Proficiency in measurements, mechanical drawings, GD&T, and inspection tools
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Mentoring skills
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening
  • Eligible to work in an ITAR environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and monitor CNC machines, adjust controls, and perform tool offset adjustments
  • Measure and mark parts, review work orders, and ensure tolerances
  • Select and secure fixtures and materials, maintain tolerances
  • Calculate and set machining parameters, edit machine codes
  • Document issues, communicate with team, and verify finished parts
  • Use precision measuring tools, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs
  • Participate in safety and cleanliness initiatives
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance
  • Train on multiple machine types, write and troubleshoot programs
  • Collaborate with management, engineers, and quality teams for improvements

Physical Activities: Continuous use of hands, reaching, talking, hearing; standing and walking; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Environmental Conditions: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles; moderate noise level.
