Meet Your Colleagues

The Kings Mountain team is a dedicated group of professionals driving innovation in the production of cab structures, sleeper boxes, body panels, and structural components for Mack Heavy Duty Trucks. You will support and contribute to high-quality production processes that meet our diverse customer needs.

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines
  • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
  • Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
  • Select appropriate machines and settings for tasks
  • Plan task sequences for efficient completion
  • Monitor production, adjusting settings as needed
  • Maintain inventory of finished products
  • Check output for quality assurance and document or discard defects
  • Perform machine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Maintain a safe and clean workstation
  • Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in math and basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
Education, Experience, and Licensing
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school/apprenticeship preferred
  • Experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly
  • Knowledge of safety protocols
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in root cause analysis and collaborate with engineers and production teams to implement solutions
  • Report equipment issues and production delays promptly
  • Engage in ongoing training and mentorship to foster team growth
  • Improve welding techniques and stay current with industry practices
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Work Environment
  • Work in a noisy, fast-paced manufacturing setting with variable temperatures
Work Flexibility
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if necessary
