Position Overview

The setup machinist will lead the transition/changeover between production runs on CNC machines such as mills and lathes, then operate select machines to ensure quality parts from the work cell. This position is based in North Charleston, SC, with relocation assistance provided.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Rate: $24-$29/hour + $2.50/hr shift differential
  • Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
  • Sign-on bonus: $3,000 (less withholding)
  • Additional benefits include health insurance from day one, paid lunch, two weeks vacation, tuition assistance, and access to advanced machining equipment.
Responsibilities
  1. Set up tools and perform part changeovers, including program retrieval and input.
  2. Establish work offsets manually and with probing technology.
  3. Read and reset CNC programs.
  4. Calculate and input axis coordinates or use spindle probes.
  5. Adjust work offsets based on GD&T results.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years operating CNC lathes/mills or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 1 year setting up CNC lathes/mills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • U.S. persons as defined by ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, Asylee, Refugee).
Preferred Skills
  • Technical degree in manufacturing or related field.
  • Experience with CNC or conversational programming.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and GD&T.
  • Ability to perform basic shop math.
