Job description

Responsibilities

Independently perform a variety of precision machine operations using CNC or manual machining centers to cut, shape, drill, or form metal workpieces to specifications. Essential duties include:

1. Setup and operate CNC or manual machining centers.
2. Perform milling, drilling, boring, or related operations with close tolerances.
3. Review setup sheets and specifications to determine machining sequences and dimensions.
4. Attach fixtures and secure workpieces according to setup instructions.
5. Select and install cutting tools.
6. Measure workpieces for conformance to specifications.
7. Use override controls to correct out-of-tolerance conditions in coordination with manufacturing engineers.
8. Machine materials other than metal, such as composites, plastics, and rubber as required.
9. Clean machines and tooling, perform maintenance, and adhere to 6S principles.
10. Adjust machine feed, speed, and cutters as needed, coordinating with engineers during malfunctions or programming issues.

Qualifications

Must have 7-10 years of machining experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.

Position pay range: $30.60 - $43.19 per hour, commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.
