Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

The Machinist 3 is a highly skilled, journeyman-level machinist. They program, set up, operate, and maintain advanced CNC machining equipment. This equipment is used to manufacture precision components for BD’s healthcare devices. This role requires expertise in Mastercam, CAD/CAM programming, SolidWorks, GD&T, fixture design, and precision inspection techniques. The successful candidate will independently manage production from programming through final inspection while operating multiple CNC machines, ensuring quality and productivity standards are met. Additionally, the Machinist 3 serves as a technical resource and mentor, helping develop the skills and capabilities of other machine shop team members.

Responsibilities:

• Journeyman capable machining skills advanced Mastercam\CAD\CAM Programming
• Ability to setup & operate various CNC Mills and/or CNC Lathes, Precision Grinders, Screw Machines, Tumblers, Band Saws, Lapping Machine and Pedestal Grinders.
• Specialty Fixture design and fabrication and capable of performing self-inspection on your manufactured parts.

Specific Experience:

• Should directly support the machining of key components applied in the manufacture of BD Medical products.
• Candidate should be familiar with these unique machines and be capable of handling on site preventative maintenance requirements and managing all aspects of production demands including inspection and packaging associated with the production of BD unique products.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read and understand and program in Master Cam Solid Works and be proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and be able to work from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Candidate should be able to use and understand precision measurement equipment including calipers, gauges laser micrometer and optical comparators.in the validation and final inspection of their products.
• Machinist/ Operator 3 should be capable and willing to train and mentor.
• Machinist 1 and 2 as required to help improve the overall capabilities and depth of the Sandy BD Machine Shop Technical work force .
• Successful candidate should be able on a recurring day to day basis operate two CNC machines handling all programing, part load unload inspection meeting
• Machinist 3 daily output expectations.
